The Provincial Assembly of the Punjab is looking for a qualified Sign Language Interpreter for a contractual position to provide real-time interpretation of House proceedings in Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) for individuals with hearing impairments. This position is crucial in making legislative proceedings more accessible to everyone, ensuring inclusivity within the assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, real-time interpretation of House proceedings in Pakistan Sign Language (PSL).
- Collaborate with media and IT teams for live broadcasts of House activities.
- Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism during interpretation.
- Assist in other accessibility-related tasks, as required.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Special Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
Certification: Certification in Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) interpretation from a recognized institute.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sign language interpretation.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Advantage: Familiarity with parliamentary or formal institutional settings.
