Reports to: Executive Director Finance & Procurement

Position purpose

Lead PDA’s accounting and financial reporting function, including the transition to SAP, maintenance of accrual-based accounting records, preparation of financial statements, and delivery of monthly and quarterly management reports and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of finance processes in SAP, including chart of accounts mapping, opening balances, reporting requirements, user acceptance testing, and controls.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records on an accrual basis.
• Supervise monthly and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Prepare annual financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with the accounting framework adopted by PDA.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly budget-versus-actual reports, cash forecasts, expenditure analysis, and management dashboards.
• Review accounting entries, reconciliations, and reports prepared by finance staff.
• Coordinate with external auditors, internal audit, and relevant government offices on accounting and reporting matters.
• Develop accounting procedures, reporting templates, and controls, and support staff training on SAP finance processes.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the Executive Director Finance & Procurement.

Educational qualification

Required: Membership of a recognized professional accounting body, such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification.

Preferred: Experience with public-sector accounting or IPSAS, and hands-on experience implementing or operating SAP or a comparable ERP system.
